POLICE spotted an unusual sight on the roads last night.

Blackburn with Darwen neighbourhood police team posted about a GMC Dukw ampibious vehicle driving in the area.

A police spokesman said: "This GMC Dukw 6 wheel amphibious vehicle also known as the Duck spotted "cruising" the streets of Blackburn.

"It's not everyday you see one of these.

"The owner had just finished filming for a well known TV Channel.. #T5Tacops."

PC Rick Hek, from Tac Ops in Blackburn, said: "It was stopped just off Livesey Branch Road on Shorrock Lane.

"Just before this was stopped we had a pursuit with a stolen Ford Fiesta. The driver abandoned on Livesey Branch Road and managed to escape.

"All our resources were in the area dogs, drone, armed response and local pursuit officers.

"As we had been leaving this job the DUKW which is an ex-American army vehicle was spotted and it's not everyday you see one of these so I turned around to go and have a look at it.

"The owner was spoken to and he was returning from filming a TV programme.

"I was speaking to the driver of it as I was just really curious as to the legality of it which was all in order.

"The owner of it was really helpful and had been the owner of it since 1988.

"It had been filming on land and in water and the vehicle was in really good condition."
