Police want to speak to five more youths after four teenagers were arrested following an assault and an allegation of racial abuse.

Shortly after 6pm on April 5, police were called to Thurston Street in the Bank Hall area of Burnley.

They had received reports of antisocial behaviour where approximately 30 youths had been congregating and were being abusive to residents.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We attended and received further reports of an assault and an allegation of racial abuse.

"Two dispersal orders were put in place to supplement the ongoing Covid restrictions, allowing us to disperse anyone that was acting, or was likely to act, in an anti-social manner in the area."

Officers are now investigating the disturbances, and four teenagers, two boys and two girls were arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order and affray.

All have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police have also spoken to several other teenagers involved and they now need to speak to the individuals, pictured, who have yet to be identified.

DC Rik Clough from Burnley CID said: "If you know these teenagers or have any information on the events which took place we would urge you to get in touch to help us with our enquires.

"Likewise I would appeal directly to the people in these images to do the right thing and contact us."

Patrols in the area have been increased and residents are welcome to speak to officers if they have any concerns or information.
