WE asked our readers to send in their top photographs of their prize animals to celebrate International Pets Day and we have been amazed by the response.
We were inundated with entries both on social media and people posting their dogs and cats to the website.

Kerryn Yarwood from Darwen submitted this shot of Simba (right) and Nala (left) - they are brother and sister from the same litter.
Keeley Iddon from Blackburn has got a wide range of pets - Slippy is 10 years old, Dave is nearly 2 years old, Pikachu is 5 years old and Love birds are 1 year old
Phia Tattersall from Blackburn shared a pic of her Gypsy Cob Cross horse called Teddy Bear and she has had him for four years.
Melanie Hartley and Andrew Davenport sent in this photo of Siamese-cross cat Oscar who was rescued from RSPCA Preston, in October last year. They have not settled in Rishton.
Janet Dixon took this photo of her sweet dog called Jake and they are from Clayton-Le-Moors. He is a Border Collie dog and he is 9 years old and she has owned him since he was 10 weeks old.
