WE asked our readers to send in their top photographs of their prize animals to celebrate International Pets Day and we have been amazed by the response.

We were inundated with entries both on social media and people posting their dogs and cats to the website.

Melanie Hartley and Andrew Davenport sent in this photo of Siamese-cross cat Oscar who was rescued from RSPCA Preston, in October last year.  They have not settled in Rishton.

Janet Dixon took this photo of her sweet dog called Jake and they are from Clayton-Le-Moors. He is a Border Collie dog and he is 9 years old and she has owned him since he was 10 weeks old.
