POLICE who tried to stop a vehicle ended up in a high-speed pursuit.
Blackburn magistrates heard Lewis Verity reached speeds of over 70mph in a 30mph zone as he tried to evade officers.
He failed to give way at multiple junctions and overtook on the wrong side of the road, forcing other vehicles to swerve and brake to avoid collisions.
Verity, 20, of Trinity Street, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving on Manchester Road, Accrington, driving without insurance and other than in accordance with a licence. He was committed on bail to Burnley Crown Court to be sentenced on May 24.
The court heard the incident started on Church Street, when police tried to stop Verity.
