An entrepreneur, who runs three businesses, is offering business support in a bid to bring 10,000 jobs to East Lancashire.

Self-confessed serial entrepreneur, Calum McRae, 29, is putting all of his experience to good use to benefit the local business community as he joins ActionCOACH, a business support network which saved his first business.

Calum, who lives in Rawtenstall, will be backing Lancashire business owners, concentrating in Blackburn teaching them proven strategies and tactics for growth as well as helping to make the transition from lockdown as stress-free as possible.

Comparing business coaching to that of coaching a sportsperson, Calum has seen similarities between the two which sparked his initial passion to work in business.

“I started my tennis coaching club when I was 15,” said Calum. "The correlation between the mindset within business and sport is undeniable. It’s this motivation and knowledge that I’m bringing to businesses in Blackburn.

"I’ll be working with business owners on returning to and maintaining profitability, improving efficiency and taking their companies from good to great. It’s my chance to make my own mark on the prosperity of the community.”

Calum, who moved to the county for love, was hit with a dilemma in 2018 with his music company, Marzipan media.

He stumbled across ActionCOACH and using their training put the business in a fantastic position which now works with 2,000 clients across 16 countries.

He has since started a glamping business in Scotland and an electric car charger supplier to add to his portfolio but his passion now lies with helping 1,000 businesses in East Lancashire.

As the national lockdown comes to an end, Calum plans to inject wealth back into the town from his office in Rossendale and his role as business growth specialist means bringing expert strategies and growth tactics to boost productivity and profitability for all.

As he brings his abundance of knowledge from both his sports coaching and growing his software company, he’s determined to create even more noise throughout the area’s business community.

To launch his entrance to the business, Calum is kicking things off with giving away 10 tickets to ActionCOACH’s event extravaganza, BizX, on April 29th and 30th, plus four gifted business coaching sessions to each ticket winner, with Lord Sugar topping the bill for this year’s line-up.

These businesses will also be given four free coaching sessions to help them develop as lockdown is lifted.
