Using data from Rightmove, we have tracked down some of the most sought-after property locations in the county of Lancashire right now.

The data compares year-on-year buyer searches to see which specific areas have seen an peak in interest in recent months.

If you are a buyer, or are just nosey about the local property market, then here are some of the most popular towns in Lancashire to move to:

1. Morecambe
Annual increase in buyer searches: 120%

The most sought-after Lancashire location for buyers right now is Morecambe.

This coastal town has seen a whopping 120% increase in buyer searches in the last 12 months.

Buyers might be attracted to the coastal views or the town’s history and culture.

House prices are also relatively low; according to Zoopla, the average price paid for a house in the town in £158,418 which is more than £18,000 lower than the Lancashire average.

2. Brinscall, Chorley
 Annual increase in buyer searches: 99%

Brinscall in Chorley scooped second place with an impressive 99% increase in buyer searches on Rightmove.

This quaint village originally started as a small farming community but transformed into a thriving cotton industry during the 19th century.

If you ever find yourself here, visitors rave about The Cottage Tea Room.

However, the average property price here is far from cheap and currently sits at £268,000 on Zoopla.

3. Scorton, Preston

Annual increase in buyer searches: 92%

Coming in at a modest third place is Scorton.

This small village is located near the River Wyre and the Forest of Bowland.

It is a popular destination for active visitors who enjoy walking or cycling.

Nearby landmark Nicky Nook is a popular climb, and the fisheries at Wyreside Lake, Wyre Parks Fishery and Cleveley Mere are well worth a visit too.

According to Zoopla, the average price paid for a house here is an eye-watering £355,000- so definitely not one for those on a budget.

4. Singleton, Poulton-Le-Fylde
Increase in buyer searches: 78%

This village and parish is situated on the coastal plain.

It’s home to some truly luxe properties and the average price paid for a house here is £473,750.

This is one house for sale in the area right now. It’s on the market at £1.2m and has five bedrooms, three bathrooms and even its own swimming pool and gym.

5. Trawden, Colne
Increase in buyer searches: 76%

Do you live in this village? If so, you are living in one of the most sought after areas in Lancashire.

The average house price here is 195,597 and property value has increased by more than 2 per cent in the last 12 months.

6. Haskayne, Ormskirk
Increase in buyer searches: 75%

The average house price in this village is £158,208 right now and property value has increased by more than 4 per cent in the last 12 months.

7. Gisburn, Clitheroe
