A road in Blackburn will be closed for two weekends while a zebra crossing is installed.
School Lane will be closed on for the next two weekends, starting on Saturday (April 10) for the council to install a new zebra crossing outside the post office.
During the week, a phased one way system will be in operation from 8am to 6pm while over the two weekends traffic control will involve full road closures and diversions.
A spokesperson for the council said: "We appreciate the inconvenience and disruption these works will cause, we will be working as quickly as we can to complete the works and minimise disruption.
"We hope the long term benefits of this scheme will more than off-set any inconvenience that may be experienced in the short term."
Diversion routes will take traffic from the Britannia Roundabout to Haslingden Old Road, Bank Lane, Shadsworth Road and Haslingden Road. The reverse route applies.
Access for Haslingden Road and Spinning Avenue will be maintained, however the diversion routes will apply dependent on the direction of travel.
The council have said that residents and businesses have been letter dropped to advise of the access requirements across the two week period.
