A DANGEROUS police chase which saw vehicles reach speeds of 150mph came to an end thanks to the ‘outstanding’ teamwork of officers.
The vehicle was first sighted at Junction 23 of the M6 where it was requested to stop by officers.
However the driver decided to continue driving and a pursuit ensued.
Ultimately, the car had to be boxed in order to be stopped.
A police spokesman said: “Well, what outstanding teamwork Lancashire Police Pursuit a vehicle High speed in excess of 150mph.
“The vehicle is sighted at J23 of the M6 where Merseyside Traffic pick up the vehicle and request it to stop. #PursuitAuthorised #TPAC Cheshire Road and Crime, armed response, stinger put in place.
“Assistance given by NPAS, air support, GMP Traffic and CMPG, Central Motorway police group .
“Vehicle boxed in and 4 detained for Theft of Motor Vehicle, Failing to Stop and Dangerous Driving. Brilliant team effort.”
