Whitebirk, 1982
Now it is one of East Lancashire’s busiest junctions taking traffic on to the M65 but this was Whitebirk in 1982 when the power station was still standing and a petrol station was on the junction.
The power station land would become home to the Whitebirk retail park and the area around the petrol station would become a major roundabout for junction 6 of the M65
