A group of Asian youths have been causing issues close to a Mosque by taking drugs, drinking alcohol and throwing rubbish on the roof.
On Wednesday, police in Nelson took to social media to plead with the community to let them know which teenagers were responsible for the 'disrespectful' behaviour.
The issues, which also include the group making loud noises in the early hours of the morning, have been centralised around the Bond Street area, close to one of the town's Mosques, and officers are now saying the behaviour 'will not be tolerated'.
A spokesperson for the police said: "Today I wanted to make you aware of a type of behaviour that will not be tolerated.
"I am aware of a group of Asian youths causing issues on Bond Street.
"This group have been loud in the early hours on a regular basis, they have been smoking cannabis and drinking alcohol and even when children are about, and then littering.
"What makes it even worse is that there is a Mosque next door and bottles are thrown onto the roof of the property as you can see from the pictures.
"This is clearly disrespectful.
"I would love to hear and urge the community to come together and forward me any information about these youths."
If anyone does have any information which they can provide to the police, they are asked to get in touch with PCSO 7721 Shak on 7721@lancashire.police.uk or by calling 07929772326.
