A CYCLIST aged 12 suffered serious leg injuries in a crash this afternoon.
The incident took place in Accrington Road, Whalley, and the road was closed in both directions.
It is believed there was queuing traffic due to accident between A671 and King Street.
A police spokesman said: "We were called to Accrington Road, Whalley, at 12.06pm today (March 31) to reports of a collision between a cyclist and Ford Focus.
"It appears the cyclist, a 12-year-old boy - has suffered a serious leg injury and has been taken to Manchester Children's Hospital.
"A road closure remains in place."

There is also a diversion for the bus service M2.
