Police seized three cars in Pendle overnight in separate incidents and one man was arrested on suspicion of burglary.

An Audi A3 failed to stop for officers in Colne and was later found in Nelson a short time later on false plates. The vehicle, police said turned out to be stolen from Liverpool. The driver was identified by the pursuing officer. 

In another incident a member of the public reported a suspicious male in a red Hyundai in Barnoldswick. As police arrived a male was seen running from the council refuse centre. He was detained and found to have in his possession certain items. He was arrested for burglary and his car seized.

During a busy evening said officers a BMW X5M made off from police in Colne and was later found abandoned a short distance away. The car was seized.

Elsewhere a motorist was also stopped on the M55 travelling through 50mph roadworks in excess of 70mph. The driver claimed it was ‘unfair’. He was fined £100 and handed 3 points said police.
