A MAN was arrested after a police chase in Rossendale this afternoon.
The chase took place on Burnley Road East and a police vehicle was rammed during the incident.
A police spokesman said: "A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and theft.
"During the incident a police vehicle was rammed however officers were able to maintain the pursuit and detain the suspect.
"The male arrested is also wanted recall to prison for burglary offences and will be dealt with for this matter in due course.
"Thanks to the public spirited people of Rossendale who assisted in pointing out the vehicles direction as officers were trying to locate it.
"Thankfully our officer is not seriously injured."
