A WOULD-BE thief was rumbled by a door bell security system.
Blackburn magistrates heard the alarm was activated and the camera caught Dale Alan Perry rooting around in the owner's car.
It had an audio capacity which allowed her to shout at him to get out at which point he ran off.
And later the owner was able to put the footage on "Crime in Burnley and Pendle" on Facebook and Perry was recognised by a police officer.
Perry 41, of Springfield Bank, Burnley, was convicted in his absence of theft of £3 from a car. He was fined £180 with £85 costs and £34 victim surcharge.
Salima Akhtar, defending, said Perry had missed his trial because of an oversight.
"He denied responsibility and still maintains that position," said Miss Akhtar.
