A BLACKBURN based nuclear engineering company is looking for graduates to work on its projects.

Assystem, based on Innovation Centre Evolution Park, Haslingden Road, believes that recent graduates will be able to bring new ways of thinking and cutting edge techniques to the company's low carbon projects across the country as part of its leadership graduate scheme.

Successful recruits will work on projects such as the Hinkley Point C nuclear programme, the UK Small Modular Reactor programme and on nuclear fusion programmes.

Assystem UK managing director Simon Barber, said: “The scale of the country’s energy transition means that the graduates 2021 will be the future leaders of the UK's net zero economy.

“In return for their enthusiasm, drive and commitment we can offer graduates an unrivalled beginning to their career in a global engineering company.”

Assystem, ranked as the world's second largest nuclear engineering company, works to provide engineering services to design, build, commission, maintain and dismantle infrastructures across the nuclear, life sciences, transportation, industry and defence sector.

It employs around 6,000 people and operates in 15 countries across the globe with a major focus on supporting energy transition projects including renewables and hydrogen.

The company's leadership graduate scheme is open to anyone who has the right to work in the UK and has a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng), Master of Engineering (MEng) honours, or first or second-class degrees in a STEM subject or a project management degree.

As well as its head office in Blackburn. Assystem has UK offices in Sunderland, Bristol, Whitehaven, Derby and London, with applicants expected to work at any of them, dependent on placement.

Recruits will work across a three-year structured graduate programme and will receive mentoring from executive management while working on a range of projects on a 12-month rotation plan.

The recruits, which Assystem hopes will be future leaders of the company, will also get the chance to work abroad at one of their international projects.
