Police had to 'deal with' a man who was 'visiting' two women after officers uncovered a brothel in Burnley.

On Saturday afternoon, police carried out checks in the Trinity area of the town following numerous reports that an illegal brothel was being run out of a house.

On coming across the brothel, officers were at first concerned there may have been issues with human trafficking, but on closer inspection the only problems they found were to be the clear contravention of Covid regulations.

A spokesperson for Burnley police said: "Checks done following the numerous reports of a brothel running in the Trinity area.

"No human trafficking concerns but Covid is clearly being breached, which will be dealt with.

"One female admitted working out of the address of her own free will, and another female resides at the address with her.

"A male was dealt with who was visiting."
