RESTAURANTS in East Lancashire are offering Mother's Day specials while they remain closed due to lockdown restrictions.

There are a number of eateries and shops with Mother's Day deals as businesses think of innovative ways to bring in custom while they are unable to open their doors.

1. In Blackburn, Mad Hatters Cupcakes and Tea Room is offering an afternoon tea caddy which they will deliver to the door.

The caddy includes sandwiches, mini cakes, savouries, a scone with jam and clotted cream and rose lemonade - £19.95 including delivery.

2. The Bay Horse Inn in Roughlee is also offering an afternoon tea as well as a takeaway menu through the day.

The afternoon tea menu includes chocolate eclairs, scones with clotted cream and jam and red velvet cake as well as a selection of savory snacks including a caramelised onion sausage roll.

3. Delicious Deli and Cafe in Gisburn is offering a Mother's Day afternoon tea takeaway which includes a selection of savory snacks and cakes.

The box, which costs £15 per head will be available to order until March 11.

Alternatively, local florists are making unique bouquets to try and get people to buy local this mother's day.

4. Le Rain Florist in Blackburn Market are offering Mother's Day gifts on their website as they remain unable to open until mid-April.

Flowers will be available for a click and collect service or for local delivery.

5. The Flower Shop in Clitheroe is also selling unique bouquets and cards in the lead up to the weekend.
