It took police almost two days to dismantle a 'substantial' cannabis farm after they discovered the illegal drugs set-up at a house last week.

On Thursday, officers from Chorley and Leyland uncovered the grow at a property in Worden Lane in Leyland.

It took them most of Thursday evening and the majority of the day on Friday to dismantle the set-up, with officers now saying they are seeking the people responsible.

A spokesperson for the police said, on Friday: "Yesterday evening and continued through today officers from Leyland and Chorley have been at an address on Worden Lane in Leyland, having discovered a substantial cannabis grow.

"This has now been dismantled and enquires to identifiy those responsible are continuing.

"Work continues by Leyland Police to identify and target those who are involved with illegal drugs but more importantly those who are involved in their supply.
