FIRE crews are warning people not to leave tea-lights unattended after a bathroom blaze.
Two crews were called to Shakespeare Street in Padiham at 5am on Sunday.
Crew manager Kieron Ogden said: “The occupants of the house were awoken by the smoke alarm.
“A male tried to fight the fire with some water but the bath was on fire and they managed to exit the building. It was contained to the bathroom.
“Tealights had been left on the bath and we would urge people to make sure they are put out and also had to be kept in the right holder and not in plastic or something that can melt.
“They were very lucky that the alarms were fitted and working as the baths can give off nasty toxic fumes. Nobody was hurt in the incident."
