AN INVESTIGATION is taking place after a helicopter pilot's 80-mile round trip to pick up a beef and onion barm from a farm shop allegedly broke Covid lockdown rules.
A video posted online by Chipping Farm Shop in the Ribble Valley showed a man handing a bag to a helicopter pilot.
The Instagram post had a comment underneath "when your customers are literally flying in for your roast beef in caramelised onion gravy barms" with the hashtags #chippingfarmshop and #customerswhofly.
The BBC has reported that a flight radar website tracked the helicopter to the shop from City Airport in Salford.
Greater Manchester Police and Ribble Valley Borough Council are now looking into the possible Covid restrictions breach.
The shop has since deleted its account on Facebook, which earlier in the week posted videos of the helicopter's arrival.
Shop bosses declined to comment when contacted by the Lancashire Telegraph.
