GRITTERS are set to be out this evening on roads in East Lancashire ready for sub-zero temperatures.
Highways chiefs from Lancashire County Council have issued warning about the weather tonight.
A spokesman said: "Gritters will be patrolling this evening and treating where necessary in East Lancashire.
"Temperatures could drop below zero this evening so our gritters will be out patrolling the priority routes and treating them where necessary. Please take extra care on the roads if you are out driving.
"See our winter service website for winter driving advice.
"Priority routes only cover a third of the highway network and ice patches can develop on treated surfaces caused by water run-off from fields or other sources. Ice is most likely on untreated surfaces."
