A WEDDING photographer who moved back to her hometown in 2014, speaks of her glittering career in becoming the success she is today.

Claire Fromm from the Ribble Valley owns The Fromm Shoppe based in Whalley specializing in wedding photography and occasionally local commercial photography.

The mum of twin boys spent 12 years in the US from LA, California, to Indianapolis, IN, where she worked first with movie production companies such as Disney and Warner Bros, then to a fashion company specializing in Dance, Gym and Cheer wear.

She said: “After having my twin boys in Indianapolis, IN and all my family still in the Ribble Valley, it was a no brainer to move back to the UK where there were more opportunities in my line of work and family for my sons.”

Originally Mrs Fromm started with just a wedding stationery business before venturing into photography.

She said: “After moving back to the UK in 2014, I was very unsure of how I could juggle two-year-old twin boys and working full time.

“But with my background degree in Graphic and Media Design from London College of Communications and my sons still very young it was an obvious decision to build my own business.

“I had a great support system in UK and with a lot of hard work, late nights and determination I decided to go for it.”

On coming back to the Ribble Valley, after 20 years, Mrs Fromm delved into the market of wedding photography.

She said: “In my previous fashion job, I designed many of the Streetwear attire and set up studio photoshoots, so along with my media background, it wasn't too alien to venture down the photography route.

“I photographed my first wedding in 2016 and never looked back. I generally started off small, but as word of mouth grew, my business grew and I developed my own style, which is how my work is most recognized today. Now I photograph approx. 65 weddings a year, in non-Covid circumstances.”

But during lockdown, the wedding photographer was forced to put her shoots on hold as the wedding industry has come to a halt.

She said: “I have spent a lot of time rearranging dates again and again.

“I have felt so sorry for a lot of brides who have been desperate for that special day and been fed up of waiting.

“We have been very hopeful with the welcome news weddings will be back to normal by June 21, so fingers crossed this is the case.
