THERE have been seven more deaths registered in East Lancashire hospitals related to coronavirus, according to latest figures.
It take the total number of people who have passed away at the East Lancashire Hospitals Trust due to the virus to 995.
The trust, which operates the Royal Blackburn Hospital and Burnley General Hospital, registered three COVID-19 deaths on Sunday, one on Saturday and three on Friday.
Elsewhere, in the county, there were also seven at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, one at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Trust and a further three were reported at Southport and Ormskirk Hospitals.
Meanwhile nationally, a further 279 people, who tested positive for the virus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 83,529
The North-West was the second worst affected region with 57 deaths - one behind the North-East and Yorkshire.
The date of death ranges from December 3, 2020 to March 1 with the majority being on or after February 21.
