A MAN from Nelson has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison for drug offences.
Hasan Fayyaz, 20, was first stopped by police on Carr Road in Nelson on May 12 last year who found several wraps of crack cocaine on him along with cash and a mobile phone which was linked to the supply of Class A drugs.
On Thursday February 25 Fayyaz appeared before Preston Crown Court and was found guilty.
A police spokesperson said: "Again, this is another example to show that officers will continue to target those involved in the supply of Class A drugs within the Pendle area.
"Drug dealing has a detrimental effect on our communities and the winder community and can be the common cause for increased crime and violence within a neighbourhood.
"We endeavour to keep the people of Pendle safe and we will continue to do what we do.
"We understand that people will say there’s many more drug dealers out there, however without the information from the public we are limited to what we can do."
Anyone concerned about drug crime in their area can contact police by calling 101 or can anonymously contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
