A man who is wanted in connection with a serious assault in which a woman was punched and strangled is still on the run from police. 

Officers are now re-appealing for help to find the man, after an original appeal was launched in November.

Freddie Broadbent, 24, has links to Blackpool, Preston and Lancashire, and has been wanted by the police since the offence was reported in September last year.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We are re-appealing for the public’s help in finding a man wanted in connection with a serious assault in Blackpool.

"Freddie Broadbent, 24, is wanted by police after a woman was punched and strangled at an address on September 14, suffering severe bruising

"Broadbent is white, 5ft 7in tall, of medium to large build with ginger hair and blue eyes."

Officers are asking for information about Broadbent and are urging anyone who sees him not to approach him.

PC Nick Morrison, of Blackpool Police, said: “Broadbent has been wanted in connection with a serious assault for some time now.

"He knows he is wanted and I want to appeal to him directly to do the right thing and had himself in.

“If you know where he is please come forward with information.

“Do not approach him but please provide details of his location and clothing.”
