POLICE have posted shocking photos of a crash that occurred on the M66 earlier.
The incident seemingly involved a large white truck which crashed into the side of an ambulance.
The van suffered significant damage to its front, with a large amount of the vehicle crushed by the force of the crash.
Earlier, the M66 northbound entry slip road at junction 2, close to Bury and Heywood, was closed due to the collision.
Greater Manchester Police, North West Motorway Police and the North West Ambulance Service attended the scene.
Recovery vehicles were also sent to the area to assist with the incident, which occurred at around 3pm.
North West Motorway Police posted that their were "luckily no injuries" and that the scene was all clear now.
