A STUNNING new restaurant and bar will welcome its first visitors when Covid restrictions are lifted in the spring.

The Aviary, Whalley in Queen Street has had extensive renovations and fittings creating 15 jobs in the area.

When restrictions are lifted in the coming months guests can expect to be welcomed to one of the most ‘modern and sophisticated’ restaurants in the region.

Work which cost £120,000 began on the restaurant in June last year and lasted throughout the summer with changes to the interior and exterior of the building. Due to pandemic the restaurant could only open for two nights in October and then again for take outs on Christmas Eve.

Formerly a bar, the establishment is due to introduce an over 21s policy when it does finally welcome guests in May.

The restaurant management said they host a large collection of bespoke cocktails, premium spirits, craft beers and extensive wine list. The menu includes ‘a range of sharing platters, burgers and traditional Sunday roast dinners’.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Manager Chelsea Victoria said: “We have spent four months on refurbishment and created an upmarket venue which compliments Whalley’s existing hospitality venues.
“We have a creative food menu which we are excited to launch and will also have live music every weekend, followed by DJ until the early hours.

“After speaking to local members of the community we have also decided we’ll be operating an over 21s policy. We are really excited to open, fingers crossed for 17 May.”

The restaurant is currently running a takeaway and delivery service on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. It recently launched ‘Cocktails At Home’, delivering cocktails to homes with ice and garnish and have also revealed a Mother’s Day menu for home delivery.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson this week confirmed that restaurants, pubs, and cafes can reopen for outdoor dining in England no earlier than 12 April. Hospitality venues and restaurants would begin to serve limited numbers of customers inside dining rooms no earlier than 17 May.
