MORE than 70 new coronavirus cases have been recorded in East Lancashire over the last 24-hour period – with one borough adding only three new infections to their total tally.
Rossendale was the area that reported the lowest number of new cases, three, bringing the total number of infections in the borough to 5,705 since the pandemic started.
Burnley recorded the second lowest number, eight, with a total of 9,419 cases recorded since last March.
In Hyndburn, 11 new cases were discovered, bringing the borough’s total number of infections to 7,308.
Both Pendle and the Ribble Valley recorded 15 cases, bringing each borough’s total to 9,230 and 4,278 respectively.
Blackburn with Darwen once again recorded the highest number of new cases, 21. There have been 16,867 infections in the borough since the pandemic began.
