One area of Blackburn with Darwen has a coronavirus infection rate of just 64.8 cases per 100,000 people.
In the seven days to February 13, just four new cases were recorded in Tockholes, Edgworth and Hoddlesden, meaning the rate of infection had decreased relative to the previous week by 50 per cent.
In the rest of the borough, six areas recorded increases in cases and infection rates, while the remaining 12 areas recorded decreases.
Analysis of the Government’s Covid-19 infections map shows that the rate has increased in North Darwen, Central Blackburn, Darwen Town, Shadsworth and Intack, Roe Lee, Brownhill and Sunnybower, and Ewood and Fernhurst, with everywhere else recording a dip in new cases and infections.
Of the places with an increased rate, Roe Lee, Brownhill and Sunnybower recorded the biggest rise, after 49 new cases in the seven days to February 13 brought the area’s infection rate to 476.8 cases per 100,000 people.
However, this is down from 712.7 cases per 100,000 people in the seven days to January 30.
Of the areas that recorded decreases in infection rates, Tockholes, Edgworth & Hoddlesden showed the biggest dip, with Meadowhead also recording fewer cases meaning the infection rate there is now 98.3 per 100,000.
