ANT AND DEC appeared on Radio 1’s Breakfast with Greg James this morning - and they had a lot to say about Jordan North.

They initially came on to talk about the return of ITV’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

However, discussions quickly turned to Burnley’s Jordan North and his stint on the show.

Jordan appeared on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here at the end of 2020.

He was 2020’s runner up, losing out to Giovanna Fletcher.

Speaking to Ant and Dec on the show, Greg James said: “Thank you so much for embracing our Jordan North like you did in the jungle/castle.

“It was the most joyful month of our lives.”

Dec added that they knew the former St James' Lanehead Primary School pupil was going to be a popular contestant from the first trial.

The celebrities were asked to abseil down a cliff before even entering the castle- it’s safe to say that the nerves got to Jordan.

Dec explained: “We knew as soon as we got a phone call saying ‘Jordan has just spewed up on top of a cliff’ that he was going to be the star of the series.”

The presenting duo also had some behind the scenes information about Jordan’s Viper Vault trail, which he took part in alongside Shane Ritchie.

Viewers watched Jordan tackle his snake phobia by being locked in a vault with them.

Ant and Dec confirmed that he really was that terrified- and they weren’t sure if he was even going to complete the task.

Ant said:  “[Viewers] saw him being coached by Shane Ritchie to do it- what you didn’t see was the length of time it took him to change his mind [and do the task].

“We had a chat with him, producers had a chat with him, Shane Ritchie had a chat with him,

“Then he bottled it again, then he had a [cigarette] then he came back.

“It went on forever- and I honestly thought he wasn’t going to do it”

Dec added: “We were reading the rules to them on camera- and we could see his leg was twitching.

“We took a little pause and I said ‘I think he’s gonna go- I think he’s gonna faint”.

Ant went on to say that he was so scared that “nothing made sense” in his brain.

He added: “Everything in his brain just fell apart- but I couldn’t help thinking ‘this is brilliant TV!’

However, Jordan and Shane managed to complete the task and Jordan thought of his ‘happy place’ in order to get through it.

In the end, they managed to get nine stars.

Before moving onto the next segement, Greg James gave Ant and Dec an update about Jordan’s kitchen.

Before the show aired, Jordan said he only signed up to it because his “mum needs a new kitchen”.

Greg explained: “He’s been giving me updates on the kitchen.

“His mum keeps sending him different types of lino and cupboard colours.”
