ACTRESS and DJ Gemma Atkinson's engagement ring is estimated to be worth nearly £12,000.

On Valentine's Day, Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Gorka Marquez and his new fiancee announced their engagement on Instagram.

A jeweller has taken a look at the social media post and estimated that the ring could be worth £11,900.

Kate Earlam-Charnley, Design Director of Taylor & Hart commented: "I estimate Gemma’s ring to feature a 1.50ct centre oval diamond set in platinum.

"The band is likely 1.6mm wide, with fishtail pavé diamonds to half eternity and non-cathedral shoulders setting the piece's worth at an estimated £11,900.

“The delicate band makes for super comfortable wearing whilst also bringing the focus to the centre diamond.

"Oval diamonds are a very elegant shape and optically elongate the fingers. These features combined make the Dulcet ring design one of Taylor & Hart’s most sought-after designs, especially when ladies choose a design for themselves."

The photo the couple shared on social media shows Atkinson, 36, who was wearing the ring, kissing a smiling Marquez, 30, on the cheek.

Strictly Come Dancing professional Marquez, 30, wrote on Instagram: “The best day with my forever Valentine’s.

“I asked and she said YES!!!!!!

“Happy Valentine’s Day everyone.”

Actress and radio DJ Atkinson, who is president of Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary in Ramsbottom, added: “Valentine’s forever… Of course I said yes.”

Gemma, from Bury, and her dancer beau got together after meeting on Strictly in 2017.

Kate added: "Congratulations to the happy couple and hats off for choosing such a beautiful design!"
