A CHEF is bringing Middle Eastern cuisine to Lancashire with a new range of takeaway meals.

Ness Cohen was inspired by her Israeli heritage when launching the new business, which she operates from her home kitchen in Ramsbottom.

Ms Cohen has worked as a chef in the Canadian Rockies, the French Alps and closer to home in Bristol and then Knutsford.

She said: “I’ve just reinvented myself and embarked on an exciting new venture offering Middle Eastern meals to take away from my home.

“I use local suppliers, who take it upon themselves to procure organic produce and local butchers, like the award-winning Walmsley Butchers, in Ramsbottom, across the road from me, who use local farms with ethically reared animals.”

Ms Cohen’s range includes Middle Eastern favourites such as Tapas Roast, which will be available from Valentine’s Day onwards, jackfruit shawarma, chicken shawarma and much more. She is also expanding into a vegan range.

The experienced chef said: “I am an omnivore, however, I like to promote vegan dishes and use my platform, to encourage people to eat more plant-based meals and better quality meat and dairy.

“There are a selection of others locally offering meal kits, like me, where food is served chilled or frozen with heating instructions.

“However, I have intentionally kept my prices down and reasonable to give more people access to great home cooking.”

Ms Cohen hopes that her cuisine will attract customers from across Lancashire, Bury and Greater Manchester whether they are already well acquainted with Middle Eastern delicacies or if they are looking to try something new.

Customers can order by phone and can then pick up their meals from Ms Cohen’s Bridge Street home.
