TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of intent to supply drugs.

Officers were driving along Eastern Avenue, Burnley when they witnessed a gold VW Golf R driving at high speed in the opposite direction.

Police managed to get behind the vehicle and requested it to stop on Casterton Avenue, on Tuesday night.

When officers approached the vehicle, one of the occupants were seen to hide something down his trousers.

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: "Both men were searched and were found in possession of controlled drugs, snap bags and several mobile phones.

"As such both males were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.

"The driver also appeared under the influence of drugs so was further arrested and was found to be under the influence of cannabis.

"Numerous house searches were conducted at the offenders' home addresses with large quantities of Class A, B and C drugs being recovered, £3,300 in cash was also recovered along with numerous items linked to drug dealing including phones, packaging and lists of customers.

"The two offenders remain in custody awaiting interviews.

"Burnley and Padiham Police remain committed to tackling serious and organised crime in order to keep our communities safe.
