BLACKBURN accountancy firm PM+M has added an experienced new director to its team.

Luqmaan Essa has worked in the sector for the past 18 years, having been a client relationship manager with Azets, and earlier with Cassons Chartered Accountants, which he joined in 2003.

Having developed a specialism in helping clients achieve their long and short term business goals, he joins Greenbank Technology Park headquartered PM+M as a director in the firm's accountancy and advisory team, based in its Bury office.

Mr Essa said: “I have long admired PM+M’s ambition and its commitment to always strive for excellence so this is an exciting step in my career.

"My appointment in the Bury office also further cements the firm’s commitment to the region and our clients.

"I am now looking forward to helping further strengthen the team and contribute to its continued success.”

The accounting and advisory team which Mr Essa will be directing primarily advises the owners and directors of family and privately owned businesses and supports them in achieving their business and personal goals.

The company says that the team offers a wide range of services including forecasting and business planning, annual accounts and tax returns, bookkeeping, company secretarial and VAT compliance.

Coming off the back of other recent expansions, PM+M management hope that Mr Essa's appointment marks another significant stage in the company's development.

Partner and head of PM+M's Bury office Helen Clayton said: “We are delighted that Luqmaan has joined us at what is an exciting time of growth both for our Bury office and the wider firm.

"The pandemic has, of course, made many businesses reassess their goals and objectives, so his skills, insight and expertise will be of huge value to our clients as we all move towards brighter times and plan for the future.”
