AN AWARD winning author has posted a free storytelling for children on YouTube.

Author Christina Gabbitas of the popular book Believe in the Magic of Blackburn has posted the video on YouTube for families to watch while the country is in a national lockdown.

Last November, Christina staged a virtual author visit from Blackburn Library reaching over 4,000 children in schools and isolating at home.

She said: “I was so pleased to be able to share the story with the children, it has been very difficult for all teachers and children since the Pandemic hit.

"It was wonderful to receive such lovely messages from teachers and parents and thoroughly enjoyed engaging with them.

"It was especially wonderful to be able to connect with children who are at home due to school closures and isolating.”

One parent whose child attends Audley Juniors said: “The kids couldn’t stop talking about it when they got home. After the year we’ve all had you put a little excitement in the hearts.”

The latest book Believe in the Magic of Blackburn Town Centre illustrated by Ursula Hurst was commissioned by Blackburn BID to help bring magic back into the town.
