The passenger in a silver BMW thought it would be a good idea to shine a laser at police, while being driven by an uninsured, unlicensed driver.
On Sunday, officers in Nelson were out and about patrolling the area, when the BMW was brought to their attention.
Police had a word with the occupants and on further investigation found the driver had no valid UK or EU driving licence, and also no insurance.
A spokesperson for the police said: "This vehicle came to our attention as the passenger decided to shine a laser at us.
"The occupants were spoken to and the driver was found to not have a valid UK or EU driving licence.
"He also had no insurance.
"With the assistance of Tac-Ops officers the vehicle has been recovered and the driver reported for numerous offences."
