A WARNING has been issued after cases of anti-social behaviour and customers refusing to wear masks at Shadsworth Hub.

Police put out the notice after a group of young people were reported to have been behaving in an anti-social manner at the branch of Heron Foods and the One Stop Shop based on the hub.

This came after numerous customers were turned away from shops for not wearing face coverings.

A police spokesperson said: "This is unacceptable and the kind of behaviour that is being demonstrated will not be tolerated.

"It is unacceptable to abuse staff or damage property.

"Anyone found to be doing either of these things can expect to be dealt with robustly.

"I have discussed with the managers of the shops around refusing entry to any unaccompanied children and although no one wants to implement this, the behaviour of a small minority may unfortunately leave them with no choice.

"The local neighbourhood team will be showing a visible presence around the shops and dealing with any issues that occur."

Police have recommended that anyone with concerns about anti-social behaviour can make their voices heard and provide feedback to neighbourhood policing teams by signing up to Lancashire Talking.
