Ice: Police are warning drivers to take care
A STRETCH of Padiham Road in Sabden has been closed as police deal with a traffic incident.
The road has now been closed between Sabden and Padiham, with police making the announcement at around 7.20 this evening.
Officers have also warned of dangerous road conditions throughout the county.
A police spokesperson said: "The roads are awful tonight as a result of the ice so where possible it would be best to avoid road travel, or at least stick to the main roads whilst driving at speeds suitable for the road conditions.
"There have been multiple road traffic collisions this evening, with the majority being on back roads covered in sheet ice.
"Drive safe."
