ALL of East Lancashire's boroughs have recorded an increase in coronavirus infection rates.

Meanwhile, Burnley has become the first borough in the region with over 1000 cases per 100,000 people.

Pendle recorded the second highest rate of cases in East Lancashire with over 860 for every 100,000 people, while Blackburn with Darwen currently stands at over 730 cases per 100,000.

Hyndburn came next with around 693 cases per 100,000, next came the Ribble Valley with around 597 for every 100,000 people.

Finally Rossendale was found to have the lowest rate of infections, despite still registering an increase, with around 507 cases per 100,000.

The data was recorded by Public Health England in the seven days leading up to January 7.
