THE PRIME Minister will be holding a press conference this evening where the press and members of the public will be given the opportunity to ask questions as the country is plunged into a third national lockdown.

At the start of the first national lockdown, the Prime Minister ran daily press briefings to keep the public informed about how the country was tackling the Covid-19 pandemic.

In tonight's briefing, the Prime Minister will be joined by chief medical officer for England, Professor Chris Whitty, and the Government’s chief scientific adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance.

We asked our readers what questions they would ask Boris Johnson and here were some responses:

1) How much longer do you expect people to carry on like we have for the last 12 months?

2) Why did you let people have Christmas?

3) Why are teachers and support staff not being given priority for the vaccine as a way to open schools?

4) Why have you never closed the borders like all the other countries have?

5) Do you not think it's time you took a leaf out of New Zealand's book?

6) Why are they allowing people still into the country when this new strain was apparently from outside the UK?

7) How do you expect newly employed people to survive when they can’t get furlough?

8) Why did you not act in mid-September when your own scientific advisory committee, SAGE, said this was needed?

9) What if we come out of lockdown in March and cases go up again?

Let us know what you would ask the Prime Minister in the comments
