MOST primary schools in East Lancashire have re-opened today despite concerns over the new strain Covid-19, however some schools have decided to remain closed for most pupils.

The new strain is believed to spread more easily in children, sparking concern about children returning to the classroom when the government have decided to close London schools for a fortnight.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said: “I understand people’s frustrations, I understand people’s anxieties, but there is no doubt in my mind that schools are safe and that education is a priority.”

Here is a list of the schools in East Lancashire which are keeping their doors closed or are opening partially from today.
