Two large scale cannabis farms have been shut down by police in Accrington.
Officers from Hyndburn Neighbourhood Team have located and disrupted two cannabis factories over the last two days.
The first one, containing around 250 plants was located in Fountain Street around 4pm on Tuesday December 29.
The next one was discovered around 9am this morning at an address on Hopwood Street, containing around 250 plants with the electricity supply being by-passed.
Police say they arrested an Eastern European man who was at the address in Hopwood Street, and he remains in custody for questioning.
PS Corbett of the Hyndburn Neighbourhood Policing team said: “Officers from Hyndburn Neighbourhood team are working tirelessly to address this emerging problem.
"Frustratingly, large scale Cannabis disruption now forms part of our daily business. I would ask the public to support the police by reporting any community concerns involving any drug related crime.
"We intend to carry out a number of similar operations in the coming days."
