Lancashire Football clubs and their supporters have been assisting local communities on Christmas day and during the festive period.

During a year when things have been extremely difficult for many families - players, staff and supporters joined forces with local community groups to assist those most in need.

At Ewood Park Aynsley Pears and Barry Douglas lent their support to the clubโ€™s Christmas Food Box appeal aiming to do as much they could to help the effort.

Blackburn Rovers in partnership with their Community Trust, Sodexo, and the Cardboard Box Company have been raising funds to provide 600 Christmas Day food boxes to those most in need around the Borough of Blackburn with Darwen.

Burnley Community Kitchenโ€™s foodbank has been supporting local families this Christmas. Over the last two weeks, the Kitchen has been sending out large family food parcels to schools, who have distributed them to help those families most in need.

Two hundred families from 18 local schools were referred to the foodbank with parcels feeding around 800 people of 480 were children.

Sean Dyche and Burnley FC players donated giftsย to ELHT&Me, the East Lancashire Health Trust's Official charity. Here staff are on the way to hand out the gifts to patients.

Members of the Accrington Stanley Community Trust with mascot Winstanley handed over food to Maudy Relief. The local community organisation helps people with furniture, household goods,ย  food, counselling and companionship for the lonely.
