Eight people in Accrington celebrated at the weekend after winning £1,000 each thanks to their lucky postcode.

The Woodside Road neighbours netted the windfall when BB5 6HR was announced as a Daily Prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery on December 12.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Danyl Johnson sent his well-wishes to the winners.

He said: “Amazing news for Saturday’s winners!  I hope the win has brightened up their day and that they enjoy spending their money!”

A minimum of 32% of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £600 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted on behalf of Youth Music which has received over £6.5 million worth of funding from the players of People’s Postcode Lottery. Youth Music is a national charity investing in music-making projects for children and young people experiencing challenging circumstances.

Many good causes close to the winners have also benefitted from players’ support, and local charities can apply for funding next year.
