A CHRISTMAS single has been released in memory of a ‘Blackburn warrior’ who died last month – and its producers are aiming to get it to number one in the official charts.

Little Carson Adams died aged three from a rare heart condition and his family along with the community who had been supporting him were left devastated.

That’s why local musicians produced a song to help raise money for the tot’s family.

Out today, the single, A Candle for Carson, by Traction, Miranda Miles and Master C, is sitting pretty in the main iTunes chart.

Blackburn music producers Chris Dewhurst and Andy Rose along with Miranda, who is also on vocals, collaborated and aim to get to the top of the charts in time for Christmas.

Chris said: “We are devastated to hear about Carson. It is a real tragedy.

“We hope that the whole of Blackburn, Lancashire and people from across the UK can get involved in getting A Candle for Carson to number one for Christmas.”

This Sunday will reveal how far up the charts A Candle for Carson has reached. It is currently up against releases by the likes of Little Mix, Mariah Carey and Liam Gallagher.

Chris added: “If people can download the song it would make such a huge impact, it will help keep Carson’s memory alive.”

Carson’s mum Amylee, of Lindisfarne Avenue, Blackburn, said that she was grateful for the song and that the words are amazing.

She said: “It is a beautiful song about a beautiful boy.

“I can not believe how many people’s hearts Carson has touched.

“We appreciate the support and hard work that’s gone into this song. I want to thank Miranda, Chris, and Andy and the producers.

“Even if it doesn’t get to number one were grateful we have this beautiful video to treasure forever but if everyone could get behind it that would be amazing.”

Carson's family are hoping to set up a charity in his name with the proceeds.
