A MAN was rescued after falling into Whitewell Brook in Rossendale yesterday evening.
The rescue operation, which began at around 5.45pm on Monday December 7, involved two fire engines from Nelson and Rawtenstall stations as well as a boat and a supporting engine from Penwortham station along with police and paramedics.
Firefighters were able to use a triple extension ladder to rescue the person who had fallen into the river near Burnley Road East in Waterfoot.
The man was then passed on the paramedics who were also at the scene and is said to be in a stable condition.
Fire crews remained in the area for around fifty minutes.
Police are now investigation the circumstances around the incident.
