NO NEW deaths from coronavirus have been reported in the last 24 hours by any of Lancashire’s NHS Trusts.

East Lancashire Hospitals Trust, Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust (which includes Chorley and South Ribble Hospital and Royal Preston Hospital) and Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Trust all reported to Public Health England that no new fatalities had been recorded.

However, according to the most recent weekly statistics, a total of 20 people still died from the virus in the borough of Blackburn with Darwen in the week ending Friday November 20.

In total, 42,389 people have died nationwide since the onset of the pandemic.

A total of 497 have died at East Lancashire Hospitals Trust with 416 at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust.

Meanwhile 457 people have died at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Trust.

Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.

This means some of the deaths that were first recorded in the latest period may actually have taken place days earlier.

Only deaths that occur in hospitals where the patient has tested positive for Covid-19 are recorded.
