A CHILDREN'S play area has been given a lockdown makeover.
Four new pieces of equipment have been installed by Hyndburn Council.
The play area, located at Bolton Avenue in Huncoat, now has a new trampoline, a rotating cone shaped climbing net, a special seesaw for a parent and child to enjoy together and a Rota-Bounce, which both rotates and bounces!
It already has roundabouts, swings, slide, climbing frame, basket swing and a zipline.
Cllr Paul Cox, Hyndburn Council's cabinet member for parks, said when he visited the play are with Huncoat's Cllr Dave Parkins: "“Outdoor spaces have become even more important to our community in recent times and with this in mind we continue to invest in its play areas. The improvements made to the Huncoat play area will increase the enjoyment of those using it and ensure the play area is there for many years to come”
Jackie Rawstron, vice-chair of Huncoat Community Forum, said: “Outdoor play and exercise are vital to everyone during these difficult times. Investment into the play area on Bolton Avenue by Hyndburn Council is welcome and appreciated by residents. Good quality facilities for the community to enjoy are essential”.
