THE award-winning Netflix series The Crown has returned to our screens and headed back to the Eighties when Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer were all over the front pages.
When the copuple married in 1981 it sparked off a wave of celebrations across East Lancashire and we have gone back into the archives to dig our some photographs of how we all took part in the couple’s big day.
The sun shone and there were street parties as neighbours came together for the happy occasion.
Fancy dress was often the dress code and flags flew as everyone from nursery school childrend to pensioners made the most of it.
