A MAN has been charged after a member of staff was punched at Blackburn train station.
Declan Coote, 32, of Larch Street, Nelson, has been charged with common assault after a travel safe officer was punched on Tuesday.
British Transport police said the suspect, who was drunk, was ejected from the station when the assault occurred.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "We were called at 8.15pm on December 1 to Blackburn station following a report of an assault on a member of railway staff. Officers attended and arrested a man on suspicion of the offence."
Coote has been bailed to appear at Blackburn magistrates court on January 28, 2021.
No serious injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.
